Websites
I have had several customers who have asked about building websites and so we set about finding the right solution and then getting them started with basic websites and showing them how eas it is to add extra kinds of information, like pulling data from Google, or adding maps and blogs.

PC Repair
Customers often come to us having had a problem with Viruses or malware. Recently one of my customers came to us with such an issue. They were right in the middle of being conned to pay a company to remotely connect into the system and fix their machine, often called ransomware. Theye were being asked to send a cheque for $549 USD to fix a machine and then further protect all other machines in the household. However, my customer got the phone number from a pop-up on their own screen, i.e. they had already been hacked and followed along with trying to get help. As they were in the middle of a session with these people, I immediately told them to cut the connection, i.e. switch off the PC and close your internet down.
They bought the laptop to me and we started to work on fixing the machine together whilst I explained every step I was taking.
Eventually I got the machine back up and running on a new O/S. The old O/S was so badly broken it would not take updates from Microsoft and thought it had an invalid copy of the O/S and none of the tools I had would fix the problem. New Operating System was the only route.
When the machine was fixed, I bench tested it for 24 hours and found that it was overheating, the fans were running at full speed constantly. I adviused the customer and we agreed on a cleaning service.
The cleaning service entailed opening up the machine, cleaning the inside and particularly the fans/filters of any debris/dust/dirt/hairs.
I also cleaned the old thermal compound on the CPU and GPU and replaced with new compound and then reinstalled. The machine now runs much cooler than it ever had and is quieter as the fans aren't running at high speeds. The machine will now run much faster and will also last longer.
